This dream of cycling across the country started in my head about a year ago. I wanted to do something significant in support of my favorite charity organization the Housing Industry Foundation (HIF). Involvement in HIF with my time and donations is one way I can give back to the apartment industry . . . an industry that has given so much to me.

I decided to combine my love of cycling with a benefit for HIF. Initially, I was going to go by myself and another group. Nathan, my son, said, "I want to go, too." When Larry realized Nathan and I were really going to do it, he didn't want to be left behind. Come to find out, it has been a life-long dream of his to cycle across America. It has become a family, charitable event. I am so excited about the trip!!!
